As students, advisors and administrators interested and involved in Career and Technical Education, we welcome you to this page.
Career and Technical Education Program Directors and CTSO State Advisors have teamed to create a new, more responsive service delivery to Colorado’s secondary and post-secondary programs. The contacts provided on the CTE Career and Technical Education Website will be serving the state in program approvals, planning professional development, launching articulation through escrow credit, and responding to field requests. More face-to-face assistance will be available for teachers and local directors.
It is the intent of the CTE office to provide pathways for student, advisors and administrators.
HOSA is not extracurricular; it is an integral part of the classroom instructional program. HOSA provides teachers and members with educational and leadership development activities to merge with the classroom instructional program, teaching the skills that a successful career in the Health Occupations Education area requires.
Working hand-in-hand with the educational and business communities, HOSA’s goal is for its members to develop a “career success kit” to carry into their professional and personal lives after graduation, including:
Occupational skills need for careers in the health occupations field
Leadership skills
An understanding and appreciation of civic responsibility
Ethical behavior in personal and business relationships
An understanding of the role of health occupations education skills in the global economy
Preparation for higher learningTo accomplish this, HOSA uses local chapter projects and a program of competency-based competitive events in specific occupational areas. These events emphasize academic and vocational excellence as building blocks for successful careers and demonstrate the direct relationship between health occupations education and the real needs of business and industry.
